Yesterday was somewhat of a confrontational day for me with the population of West Virginia. It is becoming increasingly irritating to me to tolerate the rudeness and ignorance of the local indigenous population. There were two incidents that occured today that caused me some discomfort.
Incident one (The middle-aged woman)
I was at Wal-Mart buying new work pants. I was standing in front of the credit card machine in the check out line. I had just swiped my card and was preparing to press the required buttons to complete the transaction when the woman behind me literally "bumped"me out of the way and began to place her purse and items on the checkout counter in front of the credit card machine. I looked at the cashier and she was as shocked as I was. So I placed my hand in front of the woman's belongings and pushed them all onto the floor. She in turn began swearing at me. I kindly replied "Please wait your turn." I then completed my transaction and went on my way.
Incident two (The love birds)
A couple came into Cracker Barrel and decided that it would be a rush to make out in the restaurant in front of other customers. At first they just sat next to each other and kissed. When my manager came out into the dining room they would stop. Kristy was busy in the back and she hadn't been in the dining room for a while so I guess the love birds decided that it was a great opportunity for some heavy petting. I was two tables away taking an order when all of the sudden the girl straddles the guy and they begin shoving their tongues down each others throats. My table is becoming uncomfortable along with some other tables in the dining room. I then watch the guy place his hand up the woman's shirt. That's when I excused myself from my current table and walked over to the love birds. I said "It is apparently obvious that you two love each other very much. But we are a family restaurant and if you could keep your actions rated G, that would be great. Thanks" They just looked at me as if they didn't get what I was saying. So I added this "What I'm trying to tell you is stop the spit swapping or leave." They then got up and left the restaurant.
I don't even want to know what they did afterwards.
